Thinking About Visiting HBC?

We want your visit with us to be an enjoyable one!  We are so glad that you are considering visiting Hillwood.   That's why we want to provide you with some information that will perhaps answer some questions you might have concerning your visit.

At Hillwood, we want you to feel at home, to become a part of a great spiritual family.   You'll be surrounded by caring, loving, and friendly people.   We are a family of faith that seeks to help bear your burdens during the tough times of life as well as rejoice with you during the good times.   So whether you're part of a large family or a family of one, we want to let you know that you are welcome at Hillwood!

FINDING YOUR WAY TO HILLWOOD

If you are traveling south on Memorial Parkway (Hwy. 231), Hillwood is located just south of Moutain Gap Road, at 300 Kohler Road.   If you are traveling north on Memorial Parkway (Hwy. 231), Hillwood is located at the next intersection past English Drive.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE

When you come onto the grounds you will notice a sign at the entrance, GUEST PARKING.  Please turn to your right as you enter the parking lot and close to the building you will find several parking spaces reserved just for you.  You will also notice that we have VALET PARKING, just follow the signs.  You will find a Greeter waiting to give you a warm welcome to Hillwood.

If you are coming to Sunday School, one of our Greeters will escort you to our WELCOME CENTER.  At the WELCOME CENTER someone will help you find the class that's best for you and your children.   They will show you where your children will be in Sunday School and then get you to your class.

We have Sunday School classes for all ages!  We have classes for Bed Babies through 12th grade, as well as classes for singles and couples alike.   You can choose from a couples class or if you prefer, we also have individual classes for men and women.   You decide which is best for you!

CHILDCARE

Children are very special to us at Hillwood!   We seek to provide a comprehensive, caring ministry to children and their parents.  Childcare is provided during Sunday School and Worship.   When you arrive and meet our childcare staff they will be able to explain to you in detail what our ministry to children consists of.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why do I need to be a member of a local church?

Acts 2:41 speaks of those who "were added to their number".  Definite affiliation gives a sense of belonging, loyalty and commitment.  It helps the church to know who we can count on for service and leadership.

Are there different ways to join?  Yes!

• By Receiving Christ as your Savior and Lord, and obeying Him through Christian baptism.

• By Transfer of Membership from another Baptist church (having been saved and baptized previously).

• By Statement of Your Christian Faith, having formerly been a member of a Baptist church, but not presently associated with that church.

• By Baptism from another Christian denomination, being a Christian but having never been baptized by immersion.  (This does not invalidate your previous Christian commitment).

When do I join or make a decision?

At the close of every worship service, the Pastor invites those who want to make a decision to come forward.  He, or a member of the staff will talk with you about your decision.
